Often there is a lot of hype about the potential negative side-effects that social networking can bring, such as a loss of privacy or even the chances of loosing a job. Worse that these horror stories than usually result in people who really don’t know much about the technology using those stories as an excuse not to try it out, see for themselves and make up their own mind.
Therefore, its really good to know that there are also good things that come out of social networking. Unfortunately few articles have been published on how these social networks help stay in contact, reconnect with friends - or how social networking tools can be used to achieve common goals.
Even better that HSBC did not dismissed this group of students campaigning against their a change in their graduate account offer. Rather, HSBC took a positive step in acknowledging how social networking tools can be used as a fantastic tool for feedback from customers - and reversed their stance.
